Borders, Boundaries, Barriers, and Bridges

Overview:

In my session, I’ll explain the notion of 4Bs and who/what inspired me to talk about this topic. Aims:

  • Managing a learning environment analysis by using the 4B framework

  • Taking part in a discussion regarding the politics of language, policy, and practice

  • Engaging in dialogue (not a debate)

  • Developing and deepening the sociopolitical consciousness 

We will work in groups and/or individually. Present one’s understanding of a border, boundary, barrier, or bridge through visual representation. Connect and interact with other members of the group. 

Individuals will be able to demonstrate shifting from a neutral stance to heightened critical consciousness by asking more questions and challenging presumptions – their own and others.
