EDYOUAFRICA: Empowering Teachers, Inspiring Change

ree

At EdYOUFest, we believe that education is a bridge — a bridge between cultures, opportunities, and futures.

With this vision in mind, we are proud to introduce EDYOUAFRICA, a new initiative dedicated to supporting English teachers across the African continent through community, professional development, and international collaboration.

Why EDYOUAFRICA

Africa is home to one of the world’s youngest populations. Millions of students are growing up in environments full of potential, talent, and diversity — but many teachers lack structured opportunities for continuous training and global networking.

EDYOUAFRICA aims to help close this gap by:

  • Providing access to free or affordable teacher training

  • Connecting educators across borders

  • Helping African teachers gain visibility and recognition

  • Creating opportunities for professional growth and exchange

Community First

The core of EDYOUAFRICA is community.

Teachers will have:

  • Access to online networking spaces

  • Opportunities to share classroom experiences

  • Access to EdYOUFest online events and webinars

  • Reserved spaces at EDYOUMARATHON

  • The possibility to contribute articles, workshops, and talks

We believe that every teacher has a story worth sharing.

Professional Development

One of our main goals is to offer:

  • Webinars led by international experts

  • Training opportunities from universities, schools, and ELT organisations

  • Teaching resources and classroom-ready materials

  • Mentorship for young or early-career teachers

These programs are designed to be practical, inclusive, and collaborative.

Local Roots, Global Reach

Unlike traditional programmes that “deliver” training from outside, EDYOUAFRICA is shaped with teachers, not just for them.We listen first — and then build together.

Our approach includes:

  • Working with local trainers

  • Highlighting African perspectives, cultures, and case studies

  • Valuing multilingual contexts

  • Promoting innovative practices emerging from African classrooms

EDYOUAFRICA is not only about bringing resources in: It is also about bringing African voices out — to the global stage.

Opportunities Ahead

Over the coming months, EDYOUAFRICA will develop:

  • A dedicated online space

  • Local teacher networks

  • African-led sessions in EDYOUMARATHON

  • Scholarships for participation in EdYOUFest international events

  • Visibility channels for African educators and organisations

Our long-term vision includes:

  • Establishing a network of local ambassadors

  • Co-organising EdYOUFest events with African partners

  • Developing shared research and publications

Our Promise

We believe in the transformative power of education. We believe in teachers, and we believe that innovation grows wherever talent is given the opportunity to flourish.

EDYOUAFRICA is a step toward a more connected, equitable future — one teacher, one classroom, one community at a time.
