Cultural Day Trip

Join us for the walking tour through Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most culturally vibrant and historically significant neighbourhoods.

This immersive experience will take you on a journey through centuries of Japanese tradition, revealing a unique blend of old-world Edo charm and the energy of modern-day Tokyo. Our tour begins at Kaminarimon, the “Thunder Gate” and the iconic entrance to Senso-ji Temple. You will be welcomed by the giant red lantern, which is the main entrance to Sensoji Temple, guarded by two sets of statues, Fujin (god of wind) and Raijin (god of thunder).

We will continue on through Nakamise-dori, a lively and colourful shopping street lined with stalls selling traditional snacks, handcrafted souvenirs, fans, and more. It is the perfect place to sample classic Japanese treats like ningyo-yaki, senbei rice crackers, and sweet red bean mochi.

The tour resumes to the main temple grounds, where you will see the unique architecture of Senso-ji and experience traditional customs such as wafting incense for good luck.

A relaxing stroll through Sumida Park and along the scenic Sumida River offers a picturesque view and a peaceful atmosphere amidst the urban landscape. Here, you will also catch a glimpse of the Tokyo Skytree, the tallest structure in Japan providing a striking contrast to the traditional sights of Asakusa.

Whether you are a first-time visitor or a returning traveller, this walking tour offers a perfect introduction to Tokyo’s cultural heart—blending the spirit of the past with the pulse of the present.
